Channeling her best Simon Ward and David Sin, Becky makes her way back in to Il Cinema Ritrovato with determined vigour
We've been lucky enough to be invited to Il Cinema Ritrovato, a fantastic film festival in Bologna, Italy that presents film lovers with the chance to see restored classics and rarities from the archives. This year, its 29th edition, sees 427 films presented from the 1890's to the present day.
Day three of her Cannes festival experience, day five of the actual festival. Becky is hoping to have a full day of film watching today, as it will be her last opportunity
After nine years, Becky's enthusiasm for Cannes hasn't faltered one bit. Read on to hear about her first impressions of this next iteration.
After an amazing start to the day I'm brought crashing down to earth when Sacre bleu! The ticketing system has crashed!
Amazingly after 2 hours sleep we make it to the 8.30am competition screening of The Paperboy. It's a testament to how engaging the film is that none of us doze off, even for a second.
We get up bright and early to try and catch a 9am screening in Director's fortnight. We manage to make it out of the flat by 7.30am so I'm hoping that will be enough queuing time.
Vitamined up, I have time for one more film before catching the bus to the airport.
I feel deeply guilty for complaining about a little rain during the next film. La Pirogue is a hard-hitting story about people from Senegal who try their luck crossing the seas to Spain in a rudimentary wooden fishing boat. As expected, much peril awaits.
