Struggling to get to grips with social media?
Need practical help to get started promoting your screenings on Twitter and Facebook?
Want to find out how to write a successful blog for your organisation?
Social media presents an exciting opportunity to raise the profile of your organisation, increase word-of-mouth marketing for your screenings, and develop audience loyalty, without spending too much time or money. But if you’re not a digital native, using these platforms can be confusing and all the options can be overwhelming.
This hands-on workshop offers a back-to-basics, practical introduction to the social media tools you really need to know how to use. It will help you get to grips with setting up profiles, initiating campaigns and communicating with your audiences. The group will be maximum 12 people to ensure you get sufficient attention. By the end of the day, you will have had the opportunity to set up Facebook and Twitter profiles for your cinema, film festival or film society, and will leave with increased knowledge and confidence of how to use social media effectively.
We will be using iMac computers in the workshop, or you can bring your own laptop if you prefer.
Who is the workshop for?
Staff of independent cinemas, film festivals, film societies, cross arts venues, pop up cinemas and support agencies who need practical guidance to getting started with using social media to promote their screenings and organisations.
