This online workshop is designed for writers or writer/directors based in the South West or South East of England, who are looking to move from short film or another creative practice into narrative feature film. Ideally you will have a narrative feature film idea you are looking to develop, but is not yet scripted.
Delivered by professional Script Editor, Kate Leys and BFI NETWORK Talent Executives, Alix Taylor & Thomas Wightman. We will discuss the different stages of development on feature film projects, with a particular focus on early development pre-scripting. Find out how the BFI NETWORK Early Development Fund works and what we are looking for from applications, as well as next steps towards the main BFI Development Fund. We will help de-mystify what a treatment is and why they are such an important stage of feature film development. Providing insight into the key principles of storytelling and the top ‘do’s and don’ts’ for writing a treatment.
