The ICO is proud to be partnering with Film Hub Wales to offer the first of our Hub-based Screening Days for 2014-15.
Screening Days are preview film screening events for staff and volunteers of cinemas, mixed arts venues, film festivals, and film societies.
Choose from a programme of pre-release films, showing back-to-back over two days at Chapter in Cardiff on Sunday 6 and Monday 7 July 2014.
The film programme showcases key upcoming art-house and independent titles, scheduled for theatrical release in July – October 2014.

Film Hub Wales is part of the BFI’s Film Audience Network (FAN). Its role is to bring film, education, community, exhibition, archive and events experts together to offer more choice, more insight and grow new audiences.
The Hub aims to increase the opportunities to engage with cinema in all its diversity and raise the profile of the Welsh cinema sector.
Registration
Registration for the event is now closed.
Members of Film Hub Wales are eligible for free passes for the event, as these have been funded by Film Hub Wales. Members from other film hubs, and exhibitors based in Wales that are not hub members, are eligible to attend at normal Screening Days prices.
Bursaries
Film Hub Wales members may apply for travel and accommodation bursaries though the Film Hub Wales website.

Screening Days Wales is an industry event which is open to people working or volunteering in an organisation whose primary purpose is the exhibition of films to the public. As all of the films that are being shown at the event are pre-release titles there is a press embargo on the event, which includes social networking sites and film forums.

Chapter is situated in Canton, Cardiff behind Cowbridge Road East, between Llandaff Road and Market Road.
By Car
If you are coming from M4 East (London): Leave the M4 at junction 29 and follow signs onto A48 (M). Continue on the A48 passin g Cardiff Gate, Pentwyn, Cardiff East/Docks and Cardiff Central. Continue along the A48, you will pass a large TESCO superstore on your left and Cardiff Metropolitan University (Llandaff) on your right. Take the next slip road sign posted Llandaff/Llantrisant. At the traffic lights turn left. The next set of traffic lights you come to, you will need to be in the right hand lane, go straight on into Llandaff Rd. You will come to another set of traffic lights, continue on, then take the second right turning into Market Place. The Butchers Arms pub is on the corner, you will see Chapter on the right.
If you are coming from M4 West (Swansea): Leave the M4 at junction 33 and follow the signs for Penarth/Barry, passing St Fagans (Welsh National Folk Museum), Ely/Cardiff West, take the Leckwith/Athletic Stadium junction. Take the first left off the roundabout passing the stadium on your right; continue on through two sets of traffic lights. At the third set of traffic lights go straight across, The Corporation pub will be on your left, take the next left turning into Market Place. The Butchers Arms pub is on the corner, you will see Chapter on the right.
Parking
Chapter has a large free public car park with allocated disabled spaces at the rear of the building.
Overflow parking is available in the adjoining car park of Cardiff Community Learning Services. This public car park is free every evening from 6pm. From 8am-6pm you can park for up to two hours for free, above two hours there is a standard charge of £3 per day.
There are some free parking bays on Market Place, to the front of Chapter. Please be careful when parking in this area as some spaces which appear to be designated parking bays are behind double yellow lines. Double yellow lines apply to the full area behind them, including the pavement, so if you have to cross them, you will be illegally parked and may receive a parking ticket.
By Bus

Practical Info
Registration
Registration will be held from 8.30 each morning in the cinema foyer. You will not need a ticket but will be issued a badge for the day(s) you are attending. This will be your entry pass into all of the screenings.
The registration area will be staffed by the ICO throughout the event.
Films will start between 9:15 – 10:00 and will finish between 17:30 – 18:15.
Luggage
Luggage may be left in the delegate area. Please note this is left at the owner’s risk.
Delegate Area
Throughout the event the delegate area (1st Space on Sunday and the cinema foyer on Monday) will be a dedicated area for Screening Days Wales delegates. You can speak to representatives from the ICO, Film Hub Wales and Moviola, enjoy free tea and coffee during registration and break times, and leave your luggage.
Screenings
Screenings will be held in Cinema 1 & Cinema 2.
Refreshments
Free tea and coffee will be available for delegates during registration and break times.
Lunch and refreshments will be available to purchase from the cinema café.
Drinks reception
There will be a drinks reception on Sunday evening for delegates to meet and network with fellow exhibitors.
Other activities
All Film Hub Wales members are invited to the Film Hub Wales meeting, which will take place on Sunday during lunchtime.
Join the British Federation of Film Societies (BFFS) and Film Hub Wales (FHW) to explore the potential for a network of film societies and community cinemas in Wales. Hear what support BFFS can offer, think about the role your organisation could play, discuss your hopes for film screenings in Wales and network with other exhibitors.
Led by Jaq Chell of BFFS and Jim Barratt of Llancarfan Community Cinema, who will be sharing findings of the Film Hub Wales Rural Cinema Development Strategy, this session is a great opportunity to come together as a group of organisers and supporters to help ensure the future of the community cinema movement in Wales.
