Volunteer Coordinator

Leeds Film

Leeds

Salary: £22,183.00 - £24,491.00 (pro rata)

Leeds Film is looking for people to work as part of a pool of Volunteer Coordinators at festivals organised in Leeds by Arts, Events & Venues (AEV) throughout the year.

The festivals include: the UK’s largest annual arts and light festival Light Night Leeds (14 and 15 October 2021); the Oscar and BAFTA-qualifying Leeds International Film Festival (3-18 November 2021); and the UK’s largest film festival for children and families, Leeds Young Film Festival (Easter 2022).

The role will involve identifying requirements, recruitment, and coordinating large numbers of volunteers. The responsibilities of the role include: developing a number of high-quality and inclusive volunteer roles; liaising with universities, colleges and arts organisations to recruit volunteers; and creating handbooks, scheduling rotas, and running volunteer training sessions. You will be responsible for overseeing the volunteer journey from end to end, supporting volunteer development, and ensuring a positive volunteer experience.

We are looking for candidates with the ability to interact with a diverse range of volunteers. A friendly and confident communicator, passionate about engaging with the Leeds community to encourage participation at our festivals.

Please note: this is a casual role that will include working on festivals and other activities as and when required and may involve working evenings and weekends.

We will require one Volunteer Coordinator from the pool for each of the festivals which include:

  • Light Night Leeds (14th & 15th October 2021), 3 days a week mid-July – mid-October with some additional days likely to be required.
  • Leeds International Film Festival (3rd – 18th November 2021), part-time mid-August – October, full time in November.
  • Leeds Young Film Festival (Easter 2022), part time hours in March/April.

On your application, please state which festival(s) you are interested in working on and what your general availability is. If you are successful in being recruited to the pool, you may be offered a role on more than one festival.

The Volunteer Programme is currently under development and there may also be opportunity to identity and coordinate supplementary volunteer activity for AEV.

As we are recruiting for a pool of staff, being offered a place on the pool does not automatically guarantee a role working on a festival.

We promote diversity and want a workforce that reflects the population of Leeds. Leeds City Council is a Stonewall Top 100 employer, a Mindful employer and a Disability Confident employer.
