UX / Interaction Designer

Salary: £46,362 - £54,762 per annum

The British Film Institute is looking for a UX / Interaction Designer who will play an important part in the new BFI ten-year strategy: Screen Culture 2033.

About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a User Researcher to play an important part in the new BFI ten-year strategy – Screen Culture 2033 – which sets out how we will advance our knowledge, collections, programmes, National Lottery funding and leadership to build a diverse UK screen culture that benefits all of society.

Digital access to BFI programmes – and our digital revenues – are critical to help us realise our vision. The potential to deliver more of our work digitally presents us with a huge and transformative cultural opportunity.

The digital ambition is that by 2033, we will have radically reformed all BFI services by making them easy to use and widely available online, reaching more people and delivering more of our cultural programme digitally.

The UX/Interaction Designer will develop the BFI’s user interface design across a variety of platforms to support customer experiences that are coherent, engaging and accessible, regardless of a user’s entry point or device. Through prototyping and testing, you will improve the usability of our digital products and advocate a digital-first, user-centred approach to design within the organisation.

We are looking for candidates who have:

• Experience of successful UX design with experience of designing for desktop and mobile platforms.
• Strong experience of applying user-centred design and data-driven approaches.
• Knowledge of agile, lean and design thinking methodologies.
• Strong experience of prototyping and design tools
