The Grierson Trust is seeking to appoint four new Trustees with wide-ranging experience of the factual TV and documentary filmmaking industry to its Board.

Following a Board skills audit, and with an understanding of current gaps within our Board, we are especially interested in receiving applications from experienced professionals with experience working in at least one of the following roles or specialisms:

  • Distribution
  • Short documentary
  • Filmmaking (director, editor, DOP)
  • Production Management
  • Senior manager at an independent production company

In addition, it would be desirable if candidates hold knowledge about at least one of the following areas:

  • HR management
  • Accountancy
  • Fundraising from Trusts and Foundations
  • Charity law and compliance
  • Training

We are particularly interested in applicants from under-represented groups and those based in the Nations and Regions.

The Grierson Trust is a registered charity operated as a company limited by guarantee and the board of directors of the company are also trustees of the charity.

Trustees serve for a maximum of six years (two three-year terms). Six board meetings are held per year which Trustees are expected to attend. The board is responsible for setting the strategy and policies of the Grierson Trust and guides and supports the Managing Director and her staff.

Trustees are also expected to help with the interviewing of candidates for the Grierson DocLab training schemes and the judging of the annual Grierson Awards.
