Programming Fellowships

Berwick Film & Media Arts Festival

Berwick-upon-Tweed

Salary: £4000 fee (40 days work at £100 per day)

Berwick Film & Media Arts Festival (BFMAF) is inviting applications for the fourth year of its fellowship programme for UK based early career curators, film programmers and critics.

About the Fellowships

In 2022 we are pleased to offer two Programming Fellowships to join BFMAF as Associate Programmers. They will be part of the programming team that will deliver the 18th Berwick Film & Media Arts Festival taking place from Friday 9 to Sunday 11 September 2022.

The Programming Fellowships were created at Berwick Film & Media Arts Festival with a desire that film festivals might offer more curatorial work, according to transparent and fair recruitment practices, than they currently do. The Programming Fellowships are developmental and mentored roles at the festival, creating opportunities for mutual learning in and around critical and audience focused film festival curation.

Previous Programming Fellows at Berwick Film & Media Arts Festival are Christina Demetriou (2020), Tendai Mutambu (2019), Myriam Mouflih (2020) and Becca Voelcker (2018).

In recognition of our aims as an organisation, and the heterogeneity of our festival programme we will prioritise Black and other global majority applicants, people from low income backgrounds, people with disabilities and people who identify as LGBTQ+.

The fee paid to Programming Fellows is £4000. This equates to an approximate daily rate of £100.

  • Hours of employment: Part time
  • Contract type: Freelance April – September 2022
