Samizdat Film Festival is looking for a Marketing and Social Media Coordinator to join their team on a fixed-term basis.

About us
Samizdat is Scotland’s first Eastern European and Central Asian film festival, based in the Centre for Contemporary Arts in Glasgow. We have been generously funded by Screen Scotland, BFI FAN, and FilmHub Scotland, and have been running since 2022.
Our team is made up of film academics and practitioners from across the UK and Eastern Europe. We are all passionate about connecting Scottish audiences with films from the Easter European and Central Asian region. We aim to exhibit films that are challenging and diverse, and which represent the region’s rich abundance of cultures, ethnicities, communities and traditions.
Role responsibilities
- Develop and execute social media strategies for Instagram, Facebook, and X
- Create engaging content (graphics, images, video)
- Research and engage with relevant channels and institutions
- Manage Samizdat’s Instagram account, respond to queries, and engage with audiences
- Coordinate with volunteers to create content during the festival
- Analyse and report on social media performance post-festival
About you
- Experience in social media planning and content creation, preferably in festivals/arts sector
- Proficient in Canva, Photoshop, and basic video editing
- Excellent communication skills and ability to meet tight deadlines
- Knowledge of the UK film festival landscape is a plus
- This is a chance to be quite creatively bold: we would love someone who has an imaginative vision for the festival’s social media strategy, who takes risks and wants to collaborate on crafting a unique brand presence and tone of voice for our festival
