About London Short Film Festival
Founded in 2003, LSFF is a BAFTA-qualifying, internationally regarded independent short film festival. Since then, with a commitment to peripheral voices, we have strived to spotlight a multiplicity of filmmakers, visual artists and creatives across intersections.
Each January, LSFF hosts ten days of short form, conversation and multidisciplinary curation. We present between 250 – 500 British and International films each edition, collaboratively programmed down from 5000+ open submissions. We also present Special Events and an industry offering of workshops, panels and discussion for filmmakers and workers. In addition, we organise events outside of the main festival dates as part of our year-round offering.
We pride ourselves on an 18 year ethos of giving screen-space and visibility to unconventional and thoroughly independent filmmaking, and our programming seeks to situate the contemporary in dialogue with its history and the world at large. We consider LSFF as both a platform where filmmakers can define their careers, and a celebrator of the archival treasures that got us here.
Overview of the Role
As Marketing and Events Manager your aim will be to increase LSFF’s profile as an independent film festival. You will need to have entrepreneurship, imagination and responsiveness in order to increase festival attendance / ticket sales and manage partnerships that will extend the festival’s reach.
You will be responsible for developing and executing marketing campaigns and strategies in line with the organisation’s goals as discussed with the Festival Director, Artistic Director and Lead Programmers, consistently maintaining LSFF’s brand values and tone. You will manage and assign tasks to marketing interns throughout the year, as well as creative freelancers and marketing assistants during the festival. You will also be responsible for managing the administration relating to our physical presence in cinemas, liaising with venues and partners to ensure the widest possible audience to LSFF activity throughout the year.
