The BFI is looking for a Head of Cultural Partnerships to be a key advocate for the BFI National Archive and the BFI’s cultural vision.
The successful candidate will support the BFI’s cultural vision both internally, securing buy-in and support across the organisation as well as breaking new ground in collaboration opportunities outside of the BFI.

Role responsibilities
- Identify, develop, and monitor and evaluate the impact of working with, cultural priority countries/regions around the world, complementing and supporting the BFI’s fundraising, UK soft power, and industry support priority countries/ regions.
- Lead on enriching key national and international relationships – via partners and forums
- With a focus on IP rights as a possibility rather than a constraint, develop cultural engagement strategies in partnership with teams across the BFI, and identify opportunities for new areas of partnership
- Be a key member of the Knowledge, Learning, and Collections senior leadership team, led by the Executive Director.
Person specifications
- Knowledge of the BFI National Archive collections and mission
- Broad understanding of the UK cultural sector, its main bodies and organisation.
- Demonstrable experience of developing and leading cultural programmes with multiple partners.
- An excellent networker and relationship builder with the ability to easily build relationships, listen to and empower collaborators.
- Proven people management skills including experience of successful performance management, coaching and developing staff.
