Head of Community Engagement

Salary: £32,000

Chapter are looking for a dynamic and experienced person who’s passionate about community building to work with us as Head of Community Engagement.

Purpose of Role:

You’ll take a people-centred approach to the co-creation of activity, developing a sense of ownership, wellbeing, and connection.

You’ll nurture our existing relationships, as well as develop innovative and meaningful ways for us to reach new audiences.

This is a new role designed to help us consolidate and extend inclusive practice at the heart of our work. We want to broaden and diversify our programme and audiences, creating positive, sustainable opportunities for a wide range of people.

You’ll have the chance to shape and recruit a team to support this work when you’ve identified gaps in our knowledge, experience and networks. By spending some focussed time looking, listening and asking questions we want to better understand the challenges facing local people, strengthen our relationships with them and be able to take a more pro-active role in our community.

The post-holder will be a creative and strategic thinker, with strong communication skills. This will be combined with a track record of creative engagement and/or community building activity. The Head of Community Engagement is a key member of the senior staff and will work closely with the programme, marketing, fundraising and visitor services teams.
