Future of Film is seeking an experienced and highly organised Events Producer to organise the Future of Film Summit taking place Tue 06 – Thu 08 December.
Approx. 2 days per week
Period: September 10 – December 16 2022
Candidates should have demonstrable experience of organising both in-person and online events, and will have a key role working directly alongside the director in our small team.
This position can largely support remote working but all in-person events will take place in London and require on-the ground management.
The Future of Film Summit designed to be the space where film’s future can be created. and is dedicated to sharing the latest ideas, technologies and strategies to empower creators and inspire industry change.
This year’s event has two main elements: an On-Demand online aspect with two live sessions / webinars. In addition there is an in-person Central London early evening event / reception for around 200 capacity.
Key Responsibilities
- – Organise all aspects of the Future of Film Summit in-person reception, including guestlist, ticketing, on-screen content, drinks, catering, and volunteers.
- Coordinate speaker invitations, live online sessions, and panel recordings for the Future of Film Summit online programme with the assistance of the Director and rest of the team.
- Management of stakeholder relationships and partners of the Future of Film programme.
- Coordinate the summit programme launch on the Future of Film website including collating assets, proofreading, and ticket sales management.
- Contribute to copywriting, marketing, strategy, press, and programming decisions and responsibilities as part of our small but passionate team.
- Write an event wrap report noting strengths and weaknesses of this year’s edition with suggestions towards future development.
Essential Criteria
- Multiple years demonstrable experience of organising both in-person and online events, and specifically live online panels held remotely.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise, manage and meet challenging deadlines
- A passion for and working knowledge of the future of film storytelling through technology and new ideas in the screen industries.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Experience of managing budgets for cultural or similar events, ensuring proper monitoring and strategising.
- Experience of planning and communicating plans effectively to others
- Experience of coordinating logistics for visiting cultural/event guests
- Willingness to work some unsocial hours, including the weekend in and around the period of the Future of Film Summit.
- Availability to commit to at least one set day per week.
Desirable Criteria
- An understanding of and demonstrable interest in Future of Film technologies including virtual production, web3, metaverse, and immersive / XR.
- Experience of online video platforms or on-demand video
- An understanding of and demonstrable interest in the film industry, including sales and distribution.
- Previous experience in producing events related to the screen industries specifically.
- Previous experience in talent development programmes for emerging creatives.
