About the role

ICO is the UK’s national support body for independent cinema. To help across all our projects, we need an accurate picture of organisations and workers within the sector. We are looking for a freelancer to assist us in updating our records.

The job will primarily involve contacting cinemas to ensure our contacts are up-to-date, as well as desk-based research on cinema operators.

You should be:

  • Comfortable speaking on the phone
  • Able to collate information accurately
  • Able to learn new computer systems quickly e.g. databases; or have worked with databases previously
  • Mindful about GDPR-compliant working practices and protecting personal identities more broadly
  • Able to work in our accessible office in Bermondsey, South London

Some knowledge of the UK cinema and broader film exhibition sector and UK geography is preferable.

Our day rate for this work is £160. We can offer a minimum of ten working days for this project, though there is potential for the project to extend to fifteen days. Our office hours are 10AM–6PM (inclusive of an hour’s lunch break).

Project timeline: You will need to be available to complete ten days of freelance work before March 31 2023. The days need not be consecutive. The project will not extend beyond 31 March 2023.

Applications

To apply, please send your CV and a short email outlining any past experience that would make you suitable for this role based on the criteria above, as well as your availability in March to: duncan.carson@independentcinemaoffice.org.uk.

Deadline for applications: 10am, Tuesday 28 February

Equality, diversity & inclusion

We want our workforce to represent the diversity of the people and communities in the UK and we want to see these reflected on our screens. We also want our workforce to be one where different experiences, expertise and perspectives are valued and where everyone is encouraged to grow and develop. We particularly welcome applications from Black, Asian, ethnically diverse, and disabled candidates as they are underrepresented within the ICO.
