London Experimental is looking for pre-selectors to join their 2025 Festival team.
Pre-film selectors will play a vital role, supporting the team by watching films submitted for the 2025 festival.

Role responsibilities
The festival is growing, and with more submissions than ever LEFF are looking to collaborate with some experimental film enthusiasts. Your role as a festival preselector will be to watch and analyse about 5 hours of short films over a few weeks. You will be asked to consider each film’s qualities and potential in line with our festival guidelines, and to write notes to be read by the wider festival team.
Person specifications
LEFF is looking for people who possess a strong interest and curiosity for experimental film in all its mediums, and who would enjoy engaging with and feeding back on a diverse mix of short films. This is an opportunity to build a connection with a growing festival that celebrates experimentalism and provides a platform for international filmmakers. The programme includes short form (>20 mins), artist film, avant-garde, hybrid/documentary, animation, music videos, 360, performance film, and digital media.

Please include your CV and a succinct analysis (300 words) of an experimental short film you have seen, explaining why you believe deserves a place in our programme.
Please choose a film that falls within the realm of the experimental, and identify why you think it’s a good piece of experimental work, and why it would be specifically suited to LEFF.
