Salary: £30,141 - £35,662 per annum
The BFI is seeking a Film Booker to join its Distribution & Programming Operations Department on a fixed term basis until May 2023.
Key responsibilities:
- To administer all aspects of the bookings process, including advising customers on film & TV holdings, negotiating terms, invoicing, shipping (in liaison with Despatch Manager), researching copyright clearance where unknown.
- To promote titles from BFI collections pro-actively to bookers, recommending programming alternatives and strategies.
- To advise exhibitors on the technical aspects of film (analogue, on-line and digital), including formats, ratios, running speeds, film handling.
Skills & experience
- Proven experience in theatrical and non-theatrical film distribution particularly cultural and/or archive film, with good knowledge of standard industry practice and film copyright clearance
- Up-to-date knowledge of the full range of UK and international exhibitors, including festivals (general and specialist) and non-traditional spaces
- Good communication (oral and written), administrative, presentation and negotiation skills, with the ability to deal effectively with people at all levels
- Knowledge of the technical aspects of film (both analogue and digital)
