Genesis Cinema is looking for an Events Co-Ordinator to join their team.

About the Role

This is primarily an events operational role. You will assist the Events Manager with the organisation and delivery of all events that take place at the venue such as private hires, film festivals, cast and crew screenings, Q&A screenings, parties, etc. Your main responsibility will be to oversee the running of regular and one-off events; liaising with clients or external organisers and communicating effectively with the relevant in-house departments to ensure that all events go to plan.

Hours: Varying – Up to 35 hours per week (including evenings and weekends).
Pay rate: £9.70 per hour (£10.20 after training and probation period of three months)

Responsibilities
  • Liaise with external contacts to finalise arrangements for events, such as schedules and
    content delivery.
  • Prepare event sheets to brief on-shift staff of the events taking place that day.
  • Manage staff responsible for aspects of events, such as the projection, bar, kitchen and
    operational teams.
  • Maintain regular communication with staff involved in events, keeping them updated on any
    changes.
  • Attend meetings with clients to discuss event plans where necessary
  • Work with the Events, Alternative Programming and Management teams on the
    development of all events.
  • Co-ordinate all aspects of an event to ensure it runs smoothly, delivering an event to the
    highest standard from beginning to end.
Person Specification
  • Able to provide consistently good customer service to encourage repeated business
  • Willing and able to work weekends and regular late nights
  • Extremely organised, self-motivated, able to use initiative and effective problem solver
  • Personable and professional
  • Experience in a similar role preferable
  • Able to manage others and work well within a team
  • Great time management and ability to work well under-pressure
  • Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with clients and colleagues
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • A keen interest and enthusiasm for cinema preferable
  • Cinema industry knowledge a bonus
