The BFI is looking for a Development Executive to join the BFI Filmmaking Fund team on a fixed-term basis.
The BFI Filmmaking Fund team, with National Lottery funding, co-finance and offer development funding and also support filmmaking teams throughout the lifecycle of a project, from development and production to launching their films.

Role responsibilities
- Support the Senior Production & Development Executives by providing expert editorial feedback on a wide range of projects in development;
- Read, assess and report on submissions with the strategic priorities of the Filmmaking Fund in mind.
- Engage in emerging forms of interactive and immersive storytelling and to provide an inclusive and accessible environment for talented storytellers and represent the priorities, work, team and values of the Filmmaking Fund and the BFI publicly.
Person specification
- Significant experience working within Film, Television, Emerging Media or other relevant industries.
- Experience of project assessment, and an ability to identify opportunities and challenges in written and produced work.
- Expert story editing skills and written and verbal communication skills – with a passion for new writing and diverse talent.
- Understanding and enthusiasm for the Filmmaking Fund’s strategic objectives and funding priorities, and an ability to communicate them to peers and filmmakers clearly and enthusiastically.
