The BFI is seeking a team of seasonal Cinema Hosts to play a vital role in supporting their busy front-of-house and cinema operations at BFI IMAX during the exciting upcoming summer blockbuster season.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing a first class welcome to all visitors to the BFI IMAX.
  • Working in Front of House, ticketing, food and beverage areas to deliver an excellent level of customer service.
  • Maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and quality in all areas at all times.
  • Taking every opportunity to learn new skills and use initiative to improve the customer experience.
  • Maximising sales opportunities in every interaction.

We are looking for candidates who have:

  • Have previous experience in a customer facing operational role.
  • Are excellent and inspiring communicators with a passion for seeking out any opportunity to engage with customers.
  • Are a self-starter who is committed and results focused with a willingness to collaborate and work together as a team to get things done.
  • Are passionate about film and moving image cinema.

This role is based at our BFI IMAX site at London Waterloo and is advertised as minimum 8 hours per week on a fixed term basis until 31 October 2024 to support our blockbuster season. If successful you will be working on a shift rota basis covering Friday to Thursday, with late, overnight, bank holiday and weekend shifts to be expected.

Individuals will need to be flexible to work around current contracted staff and during busier cinema times/days.
