- Financial management, to act as Treasurer
- New technology including immersive, AR and XR production
- Independent documentary production as a creative producer or director
- Public affairs and strategic relations
More generally, the role of the Trustees is to act as public advocates for the festival locally, nationally and internationally and to be a source of support in problem solving, and strategic development.
Our trustees and team are not only passionate about non-fiction storytelling but are
also committed to championing diverse stories told by diverse storytellers. We are committed to ensuring that the Board, as part of our wider team, represents a wide variety of lived experiences and cultural backgrounds. We strongly encourage and welcome applications from underrepresented groups including those from the Global South, Indigenous backgrounds, Migrants, LGBTQIA+ people and those who identify as disabled and neurodiverse.
The Board of Trustees meets four times a year with additional sub-committee meetings and occasional ad hoc meetings (online) if required. Meetings are held in Sheffield, London, and remotely, with remote options for every meeting. Trustees are also encouraged to attend the festival in Sheffield, each June.
