This archive film package gives a rare glimpse into the first decades of one of the UK’s first new towns, Harlow.
Extracts start all the way from 1949 with a pictorial document of the picturesque ‘Old Harlow’ village with its quiet country lanes and greenery before the urban development took place. The package also includes gems such as interviews from 1956 with recently-settled residents of Harlow, as well as a BBC documentary from the 1980s examining the town’s history.
