Leonor Watling, Luis Tosar, Alex Brendemühl
1913 Barcelona. When very modern, intelligent, independent (and heavily pregnant) Alma (Watling) discovers her psychiatrist husband has disappeared, she, of course, must investigate. Accompanied by her repressed, conservative (also psychiatrist) brother-in-law (Tosar), she sets out in pursuit of clues, guided only by her husband’s Freud-influenced notes on four mysterious patients. Nominated for four Goyas.
Filled with sparkling intelligence and infused with a lush, golden light [and beautifully evocative period design], Oristrell’s deliciously fun Unconscious is an absolute delight.
