A long overdue account of the murder of David Kammerer; an event that would bind together a group of young artists (including William S Burroughs, Jack Karouac and Alan Ginsberg) who would go on to form the American Beat Generation.
The year is 1944. Ginsberg (Daniel Radcliffe) is a young student at Columbia University when he falls under the spell of charismatic classmate Lucien Carr (Dane DeHaan) and aspiring writers William Burroughs (Ben Foster) and Jack Kerouac (Jack Huston).
As they lay the foundations for a rule-breaking movement that would re-define literary traditions, an outsider named David Krammerer (David C. Hall) falls deeply and madly in love with the impossibly cool Carr. When Krammerer dies under mysterious circumstances, police arrest Kerouac, Burroughs, and Carr as potential suspects…
