Winner of the FIPRESCI Prize at Berlin this year.

Blind teenager Leo spends most of his days at the pool with his best friend Giovana, competing to see who can attain the greatest heights of boredom. He’s desperate to go abroad on an exchange programme despite Giovana and his overprotective mother’s wishes for him to stay.

But then new boy Gabriel arrives at their school and as they become friends and grow closer, Leo opens up to a whole world of new experiences. New feelings blossom in him, making him question his decision to leave – and he has to cope with Giovana’s jealousy as well, as three becomes a crowd.

Based on his Iris Prize-winning short film I Don’t Want to Go Home Alone, Brazilian director Daniel Ribeiro shows himself to be a voice to watch with a lyrical and searching drama that evokes the boredom, excitement and pain of teenage years.
