Mexico, 1999: Teeanger Tomás is proving too much of a handful for his mother, so she packs him off to stay with his big brother Fede, who’s studying in Mexico City and living with his friend Santos. They’re striking against the strike their fellow students are organising; and without lectures to attend, need a new focus.
Tomás has brought a tape along with him, part of his father’s legacy, it contains the music of folk-rocker Epigmenio Cruz, who they find out is in hospital – and so set off in their rusty car to pay their last respects to their musical idol and one-time rock star.
