Michael Apted’s biopic and sweeping historical drama Amazing Grace is based on the life story of William Wilberforce, who led the campaign again the British Slave Trade.
Elected to the House of Commons aged 21, the film follows Wilberforce (Ioan Gruffudd) over the course of two decades, as he takes on the English establishment in hopes of persuading those in power to end slavery.
