ActOne’s story begins with an empty building on Acton High Street and a group of local residents who felt passionately about the fate of the historic Passmore Edwards Old Library.
After a successful campaign to return the building to community use, work began on the building in spring 2021 – supported by a team of over 100 volunteers – with the cinema officially opening in autumn 2021.
ActOne Cinema has two 60-seat screening rooms, a beautiful lounge and café and a film programme that brings audiences a wide range of cinema including independent film, world cinema, film festival screenings and filmmaker events.
