This course is aimed at creative people from independent cinemas, film festivals and arts centres who are interested in learning essential business skills to sustain and develop their organisation into the future.
In the current climate of financial uncertainty and fierce competition for arts funding, this essential day will provide a crash course in fundraising, sponsorship, business planning and sustainable development. The course will be taught through talks and workshops delivered by arts fundraising and management specialists and experienced film exhibitors.
Course schedule
The day will also provide invaluable networking opportunities on a national scale, and an online forum will facilitate further discussion, ideas–sharing and the initiation of partnerships in the months following the course.
The course will be held at Tyneside Cinema, a picture palace which recently underwent a major redevelopment to add new spaces and restore its original 1930s features.
Cost
£100 + VAT (£115). The price includes lunch, refreshments and networking drinks. Bursaries are available towards fees, travel, accommodation and/or access costs from many of the Regional Screen Agencies and from the ICO.
This project is funded by the Skillset Film Skills Fund, which is supported by the National Lottery through the UK Film Council and the film industry through the Skills Investment Fund.
