The North East International Film Festival is looking for enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join their screening committee.

The role of a Screener is to watch and rate festival submissions, from an online platform. Your contribution to the festival is incredibly valuable, their programme of screenings is based entirely upon Screener feedback.

Why do we need a screening committee?

As the first stage in a three-part process, we ensure that each film has been viewed independently by at least five different Screeners (this is you), to ensure each submission is treated fairly and to combat any unconscious bias.

Feedback given by our screening committee will help to shape the entire North East International Film Festival 2025 Official Selection Programme.

About the festival

The North East International Film Festival is an entirely volunteer-led CIC, which was founded in 2020 and takes place in and around Newcastle Upon Tyne. Since the festival’s conception, it has become the youngest ever BIFA qualifying film festival and has received many awards and accolades for its diverse and inclusive ethos.

The NEIFF makes film accessible and proudly showcases independent films to audiences across overlooked communities. It continues to be a vital platform for supporting unrepresented talent and engaging audiences with independent cinema.

This is an unpaid position, however, all Screeners are offered a 3-day Official Selection pass for the live screenings.
