Everyman is seeking a new Film Programmer  to join one of the UK’s fastest-growing independent cinema businesses.

Join a team of expert film programmers based at our Head Office in Hampstead, North London. Your role will involve working in the office, visiting venues around the UK, and also the ability to work from home.

As jobs at Everyman go, they don’t get much more important than our Film Programmers. Your role is essential to the day-to-day success of our 48 venues (and still growing!) around the UK. You’ll be responsible for delivering our film strategy across your venues, ensuring the best possible content offering for our guests – our success really is in your hands (No pressure!)

Role details
Role responsibilities
  • Book and schedule films for allocated venues to maximise admissions and box office takings on a weekly basis.
  • Deliver tailored and localised programming for each venue, broadening content through a range of Event Cinema, film strands, and local events.
  • Use Vista and internal reports to monitor sales daily and react accordingly.
  • Regularly monitor national box office performance for market and competitor analysis.
  • Work alongside the wider Programming team on planning and strategy development.
  • Maintain good working relationships with film distributors and external partners.
  • Develop good working relationships with Venue and Operations team, including visiting venues on a regular basis and attending operational meetings as required.
  • Work closely with the Sales team to coordinate private hire bookings.
  • Work creatively with the Events team on curating seasons, festivals, pop-ups, and Q&A’s.
  • Liaise with the Marketing team on tailored film packages to ensure the programming is supported appropriately.
  • Creation of the weekly trailer schedule.
  • Use Smart Trailering to construct and upload the schedule for all sites.
Person specifications
  • Ideally 2+ years of programming experience, preferably from an independent cinema group. Or experience with Film Distribution/Sales
  • A keen interest in film and strong understanding of how the industry works
  • Bundles of enthusiasm and a positive attitude
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines
  • A proactive nature and the ability to work cohesively in a team
  • Experience with Vista Cinema Management would be great, but not essential
