Salary: £27,000 - £31,000 depending on experience

About the role

At Kings Cinema, we’re not just showing films; we’re a hub of entertainment and community spirit. Situated within the iconic Kings Theatre, home to the legendary NOMADS – we’re dedicated to delivering fantastic customer service for a great cinema experience. As our Associate Manager, you’ll be at the forefront of our operations and marketing efforts, working closely with the Cinema Operator to ensure seamless cinema operations and captivating marketing initiatives. Here’s a glimpse of what you’ll be doing:

• Lead and manage a small and knowledgeable team of approximately 5 employees, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
• Take charge of staffing schedules, wages, and holiday planning in collaboration with the payroll manager, ensuring smooth roster management.
• Drive exciting marketing campaigns in partnership with Abbeygate Cinema, captivating our audience with engaging weekly email newsletters, up-to-date film listings and local print materials.
• Oversee day-to-day cinema operations, from ticketing to concessions, ensuring every moviegoer has a memorable experience.
• Use specialised computer software to ingest and decrypt films for screenings and to plan, load and screen pre show and main shows, including screenings received live by satellite – full training provided.
• Cultivate and manage the partnership with Kings Theatre and NOMADS, ensuring seamless collaboration with the shared use of the venue.
• Uphold our commitment to customer service excellence, promptly addressing inquiries and issues and ensuring every visitor leaves with a smile.

About you

We’re searching for a committed individual with a passion for cinema and a knack for leadership. Our new Associate Manager is likely to be coming with the following:

• Experience in team management and rota coordination, ensuring smooth operations at all times.
• Proficiency in software management – you will receive training for the use of specialised computer software to ingest and decrypt films for – however you will need to have a calm technical capability as a critical skill
• Proficiency in overseeing bar staff operations and financial reconciliation, ensuring efficient cost management.
• Strong marketing acumen, capable of driving original campaigns to boost cinema visibility and engagement
• Energy for progression of local partnerships and a commitment to creating a high profile for the cinema in the community
• A responsible attitude to upholding industry and legislative regulations and ensuring a safe, welcoming environment for all
• Excellent communication and analytical skills, skilled in aligning targets with driving business growth.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, ensuring our cinema operates smoothly during busy periods.
