Outreach and Engagement Officer

London Short Film Festival

London

Salary: £4,500 fixed fee

The London Short Film Festival (LSFF) is seeking a part-time, freelance Outreach and Engagement Officer to work with local communities and groups on a new BFI-funded project, LSFF Orbital.

About the role

This project expands LSFF’s activity during our January festival to reach new audiences across London, with screenings in new venues and by new curators.

As part of our remit for LSFF Orbital, we are looking to engage local, multicultural communities in these new areas, and for our programmes aimed at families and young people. Our programme is always hugely varied, radical and focused on platforming and showcasing new filmmaking voices and stories, and we want to reach as many people as possible with our January festival programme.

This is a new role on the LSFF team, and will involve researching groups and organisations that are represented across the festival programme with particular focus on Black, Black African and Caribbean communities and young people and families, forming reciprocal partnerships with those groups to promote the festival programme, events and opportunities. The post-holder will also identify new opportunities for the festival to expand our work and potential avenues for new partnerships and funding.

Location: Remote or at our office in Bethnal Green, London
Salary: £4,500 fixed fee
Term: Freelance contract from November until the end of January 2024
Hours: Part-time flexible, equivalent to 25 days worked over the 3-month period

  • Arrange and attend meetings with partners and groups to ensure the LSFF Orbital projects reach as wide an audience as possible
  • Organise ticketing/complimentary ticket offers for communities and groups
  • Contribute to our evaluation and reporting after the festival (late January)
