Hong Kong Film Festival UK is seeking a passionate and self-motivated Fundraising, Sponsorship & Marketing Executive to join their team on a fixed-term basis.
6-month fixed-term, full-time contract, possible to extend to a permanent position starting from early to mid-September 2023

As we continue to grow, we are seeking a dynamic and ambitious Fundraising, Sponsorship & Marketing Executive to join our team at the Hong Kong Film Festival UK. This role is vital for the growth and development of the festival, as it involves the ability to independently raise fundraising campaigns and secure sponsorships from various sources, including trusts and foundations, governments, corporate sponsorships and partnerships, media partnerships, donors, local businesses, events, and entrepreneurial initiatives. The primary focus is on developing and implementing effective sponsorship and fundraising strategies to expand our audiences and participants while maintaining a strong and enduring presence for the festival at local and national levels.
Key responsibilities
Operational responsibilities
- Identify and approach potential sponsors, building strong relationships to secure sponsorships for various festival events and activities.
- Collaborate with the festival team to devise compelling strategies that effectively promote the festival and attract potential sponsors.
- Organize and coordinate sponsor events, activations, and networking opportunities during the festival, fostering meaningful connections with sponsors and partners.
- Seek opportunities for collaboration and partnerships with other organizations, festivals, and industry stakeholders to expand the festival’s reach and sponsorship opportunities.
- Provide regular updates and reports on fundraising and sponsorship efforts to the Festival Director and stakeholders.
- Measure and evaluate the success of fundraising and sponsorship initiatives, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with existing sponsors, donors, and partners, ensuring high retention rates and fostering long-term partnerships.
Team collaboration
- Collaborate seamlessly with the Festival Directors to identify opportunities, prepare proposals, and approach potential prospects.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure sponsor deliverables and benefits align with the festival’s offerings and meet sponsor expectations.
Financial oversight
- Develop and execute innovative fundraising campaigns to support the growth and success of our film festival.
- Monitor and manage the fundraising and sponsorship budgets, ensuring financial goals are met.
- Collaborate with the Finance team to track sponsorship revenue, budget allocations, and financial reporting.
Requirements
- Ideally minimum 2-3 years of proven experience in Fundraising, Sponsorship & Marketing, within the film or entertainment industry is a bonus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A track record of successful fundraising campaigns and sponsorship acquisitions.
- Creative thinking and innovative approaches to attract sponsors and donors.
- Strong networking and relationship-building skills.
- Collaborative and able to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- A genuine passion for culture and film and a desire to contribute to its growth and success.
