The BFI are seeking an Events Assistant to join their Festivals team for the 67th BFI London Film Festival and support the Events Manager and Events Coordinators with the delivery of a wide variety of events.
Fixed-Term Contract: 14 August – 20 October 2023
LFF is the UK’s leading film event and one of the world’s major film festivals, attracting significant international industry participation. It’s also one of the BFI’s major cultural activities in the year introducing the finest global cinema to expanding London and UK-wide audiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Logistical preparation and on-site event delivery for a wide variety of events, including assisting with delivery of Industry events to accredited delegates and helping the other Events Coordinators to deliver a range of public facing events including Screen Talks and LFF For Free
- Provide office-based administrative support during event pre-production, including updating information documents, Excel spreadsheets and the Festival database
- Provide a welcoming and smooth arrivals experience for event contributors including helping to arrange car and train transport, greeting contributors on arrival at rehearsals and live events
Experience & Skills
- Demonstrable work experience gained within a cultural organisation either in a paid or voluntary capacity.
- Demonstrable organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and to manage and meet deadlines.
- Ability to build effective relationships with key contacts across BFI and stakeholder organisations, and to communicate effectively and tactfully with stakeholders at all levels.
