Open City Documentary Festival is currently looking for an Expanded Realities Exhibition Producer to oversee with the planning and delivery the ExR Exhibition at the 2023 festival.
Dates:
w/c 17th of July – 3 days per week
4th September – 12th September – full time inclusive of all festival dates
2 days wrap-up to be taken after the festival

About Us:
Open City Documentary Festival celebrates the art of non-fiction, creating an open space in London to nurture and champion the art of creative documentary and non-fiction filmmakers. The festival is based at UCL within the Department of Anthropology.
The thirteenth edition of the festival will take place from the 6th – 12th September 2023.
Main Purpose of the Job:
Open City Documentary Festival is currently looking for an Expanded Realities Exhibition Producer to oversee with the planning and delivery the ExR Exhibition at the 2023 festival. The post holder will work with Festival Producer on the ExR Exhibition planning and design. The ExR Producer will manage all technical aspects of the exhibition in the lead-up to and throughout the festival and oversee the smooth running of the exhibition during the festival dates.
Additional Details:
The position holder must be available to work the full dates of the festival 6th -12th of September, including the weekend. Flexible working hours will be required during the festival dates.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work with the Festival Producer on the layout of the Expanded Realities Exhibition.
- Liaise with UCL Immersive team regarding equipment requirements for the Expanded Realities Exhibition.
- Arrange any hires required for additional tech or kit for the exhibition.
- Liaise with wider team regarding production design of the exhibition and arrange any purchases or hires as required.
- Oversee the Expanded Realities Exhibition budget document, keeping it updated with all expenditure.
- Create and maintain a database of projects with all required information regarding tech, production design, etc. for reference.
- Create inventory for exhibition and share with wider team including tech, production design and signage.
- Create checklists for exhibition install and de-rig to be circulated with team.
- Work with the marketing team to create an Expanded Realities specific audience feedback survey and oversee the feedback process during the festival.
- Collate briefing documents for each project including health and safety information and guidelines for interacting with the public, to be shared with exhibition volunteers
- Create signage for exhibition including signage for each project.
- Oversee the digital install of the exhibition content and test in good time ahead of the festival.
- Attend volunteer briefing.
- Oversee the install of the Expanded Realities exhibition, managing a team of volunteers on-site at the Festival Hub.
- Be responsible for the running of the Expanded Realities exhibition throughout the festival.
- Troubleshoot any technical or logistical issues that arise with the exhibition
- Brief volunteers daily and support them throughout the opening hours.
- Ensure the exhibition runs smoothly and visitors are provided with the best possible experience.
- Oversee de-rig of the exhibition and returns of all equipment/hires.
- Act as an ambassador for Open City Documentary Festival at all events
- Any other duties that are within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job, as requested by the festival team.
Person Specification
Essential Criteria:
- Demonstrable experience of working with XR and immersive technologies.
- Excellent knowledge of XR technologies, file formats and devices.
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to checking the accuracy of information.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to act as an ambassador to the festival and deal effectively with people at all levels.
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience managing immersive technologies within an exhibition
