Our next free training and networking session for FHSE members is Making Your Cinema Environmentally Sustainable at Depot, Lewes on Tuesday 20 September.
The Depot team, who will give a tour of the building and lead an interactive workshop with FHSE members, had environmental responsibility and sustainability as a clear part of their mission from the very start, meaning that the design of the venue itself incorporates innovative ways of reducing energy use and generating renewable energy. But Depot’s award-winning commitment to green cinema goes far beyond the building itself, with sustainability-led thinking integrated into every aspect of their operations as well as the community and the natural environment on their doorstep.
At a time when the cost-of-living crisis is hitting harder than ever, it remains essential we don’t lose focus on reducing our impact on the environment. With that in mind, we hope that you will come away from this training day with some ideas on how you can remain sustainable whilst continuing to be economical.
There are travel and accommodation bursaries available to support your attendance at this event through Film Hub South East. You can find more information here.
Please click here to book your place. More training sessions will be announced for October and November soon.
Schedule
We’ll start the afternoon with a networking lunch from Depot’s kitchen and round off the day, for those who are able to stay, by attending the launch screening of the Right of Way programme (scroll down for more details)
1pm – Networking Lunch
2pm – Tour of Depot
3pm – Interactive Workshop on Environmental Sustainability delivered by Depot
6pm – Right of Way Launch Event (optional for training attendees)
Right of Way - Launch Screening
Following the training, all attendees are invited to stay for the launch of Right of Way. This new feature-length programme mixes stunning new artists’ commissions with historical archive films of the National Trails in the South East to give a bigger picture of questions of access and inclusion in the UK countryside. This screening will be followed by a panel discussion with guests Alinah Azadeh and filmmaker Dan Guthrie.
Tickets to this screening are offered on a first-come-first-served basis.
Right of Way is now available for venues to book.
