Open City Documentary Festival is looking for someone to join their team as Festival Marketing Manager.
The Open City Documentary Festival is based at the Centre for Public Anthropology in the UCL Anthropology department, a research-led department with an international reputation, offering innovative teaching programmes at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The centre is home to several projects in the world of documentary and aims to nurture the next generation of filmmakers, audio producers and VR filmmakers through training programmes, an annual film festival, the bi-annual Non-Fiction journal and other events throughout the year.
The festival creates an open space in London to champion the art of non-fiction cinema. We aim to challenge and expand the idea of documentary in all its forms. Alongside our screening programme, we bring together filmmakers and other practitioners to explore and debate the current landscape of documentary. The post holder will oversee the creation and delivery of the marketing strategy for the festival and its related activities as well as taking responsibility for the promotion of the Open City Docs School short courses.
This is a full-time, open-ended post.
Key requirements
We are looking for someone with experience of all aspects of marketing and PR work, preferably in the arts or film industry sectors. Open City Documentary Festival is run through the year by a small group with considerable team work and sharing of responsibilities. It is essential that the post holder be committed to this kind of working environment, and has extensive and deep knowledge of the current documentary film industry, trends and changes. The successful candidate will have proven experience of digital marketing, including website and social media management, and the ability to create, develop and implement a bespoke marketing strategy.
