Chair

Iris Prize

Remote

Salary: Voluntary

Iris Prize is looking for a new chair to lead their Board of Trustees as they continue to build on their 15-year foundation of sharing LGBT+ film.

Iris Prize is a year-round organisation for LGBT+ film, with a flagship festival each October in Cardiff, Wales. Over our 15-year history, Iris Prize has become a leading voice in championing LGBT+ short film, and a significant event in the British film festival calendar. A BAFTA-qualifying festival for British film, Iris is also home of the Iris Prize £30,000 film award – the world’s largest short film prize.

Building on the success of the Iris Prize LGBT+ Film Festival (which is produced by The Festivals Company), the charity undertakes work with schools and community groups in Wales to support filmmaking education and raise awareness in equality and diversity.

Iris Prize is looking for a new chair to lead our Board of Trustees as we continue to build on our 15-year foundation of sharing LGBT+ film. The Chair’s aim is to enable the Board to fulfil their responsibilities for the overall governance and strategic direction of the charity.

Our new chair will be an advocate and spokesperson for Iris as we continue to grow as a year-round organisation for LGBT+ film. This is an active role which requires a willingness to contribute strategically to Iris’ development and fundraising, and to share in Iris’ vision, values, and commitment to our mission.
