Always a wry observer, director Roy Andersson celebrates the absurdness of modern life with a series of vignettes that’ll prompt the odd belly laugh or two.
Interestingly crafted by an obvious lover of the rich tapestry of life we are treated to a host of tragic-comic characters – the obsessive tuba player, the couple who talk too much and the couple who don’t talk enough, and a young woman with a crush on a rock musician to name a few.
This is off-the-wall Nordic filmmaking at its best.
