Teresa Palmer, Frank Sweet, Sam Harris
Written and directed by the then 19-year old Murali K. Thalluri, 2:37 chronicles a day in the life in an Australian high school following a gruesome discovery. Circular in structure, the narrative dips back in time to offer a collage of perspectives, presented in documentary-style talking heads inserted into the drama.
The film deals with issues of angst ridden youth, touching on areas such as homosexuality, incest, pregnancy and self image. 2:37 has been screened at numerous international film festivals including Melbourne, Toronto and Cannes, where it was selected in Un Certain Regard.
