BERWICK FILM & MEDIA ARTS FESTIVAL APPOINTS NEW DIRECTOR
Berwick Film & Media Arts Festival, an annual celebration of the art of film in the historic border town of Berwick upon Tweed, is delighted to announce that they have recruited a new Director to lead the festival artistically and strategically onto the next level.
Melanie Iredale is a film programmer and project manager who has been working in independent cinemas, film festivals and events in the North of England for the past four years. Melanie started her career at Tyneside Cinema in 2005, and has been working as Manager at Northern Lights Film Festival in Newcastle-Gateshead since 2007. She has also worked on events for venues such as Tyneside Cinema and Side Cinema, for festivals such as AV Festival and EAT! NewcastleGateshead, and for Northern Film & Media, the regional screening agency for the North East. She continues to sit on the board of NICE-Festival, the Nordic Art & Culture Festival in Liverpool, and curates their Scandinavian film programme.
